This important initiative aims to enhance community safety by offering free wood chipping services to help residents fire-safe their homes by reducing potential fire fuels. Participants will also receive free wood chips for landscaping and other uses. Together, we’re working to create a safer, greener community for all. Rapid Food Rescue works with local businesses, farms, gardeners, hunters, and community partners to recover wholesome surplus food and distribute it to individuals and families throughout Pend Oreille County. The program helps provide supplemental and emergency food assistance while keeping usable food from going to waste.
The Holiday Smiles Project brings neighbors together to help make the holiday season brighter for local children and families. Through donated gifts, essential items, sponsorships, and volunteer support, the program helps ensure families experiencing hardship can still share in the joy of the season.
